4 appetizers for Christmas and their recipes
Christmas is approaching and in many houses the menu for the holidays is not yet decided. In many others, surely every year they prefer to innovate and make new elaborations with which to surprise the family. Be that as it may, from Caprice we want to give you a hand and, for that reason, we give you 4 simple recipes with a lot of flavor.
In these recipes that we will explain next there will be everything, from appetizers to taste at the beginning of the meal to more elaborated main courses:
- Piquillo toast with ventresca. First we toast a couple of slices of bread that we will use for the base of the appetizer. Fry the piquillo peppers for 2-3 minutes and place them on top of the toast. Next, we place a piece of ventresca on the bell pepper and give it the final touch with a couple of drops of extra virgin olive oil.
- Christmas Gilda. On a skewer we introduce a piparra, an Basque Cantabrian Anchovy, a cherry tomato and an olive. Place all the gildas you make on a plate and pour a good squirt of the best oil you have at home. If it is extra virgin olive oil, it will taste better.
- Roast sea bream with Txakoli. A very typical Christmas fish that cannot be missing from many houses. To prepare it you have to place on a baking tray a base of vegetables, which have been previously sautéed in a pan with oil, a couple of cloves of garlic, 1-2 glasses of Txakoli D. O. and the sea bream on top. Add a good splash of oil on top and put it in the oven for 10-12 minutes at 220º C. When the fish has a few minutes left, sauté the tomatoes in a frying pan with a little olive oil and season. Serve the fish in a dish and accompany it with the vegetables and cherry tomatoes.
- Fruit soup with Txakoli. To prepare the dessert you have to put half a liter of Txakoli in a casserole with a cinnamon stick, star anise, a glass of orange juice, orange and lemon peel and 100gr. of sugar. Let it reduce until it evaporates more than half of the amount of the beginning. On the other hand, mix the corn flour with a little water and add it to the previous mixture so that it thickens. Chop the fruits (to taste) and the mint and add it to the previous reduction. Let it rest for about 5-10 minutes and serve it with an ice cream ball.
And that’s it for Christmas recipes. Remember that it is always important to use quality ingredients so that the preparations are even better. And enjoy!
